In their final South Coast Conference crossover game, the Cerritos College women's basketball team fell victim to the #11-ranked team in the state, Mt. San Antonio College. The 76-45 loss to the Mounties was part of the conference's Crossover Challenge and took place at El Camino College. The Falcons (7-11) will now open SCC South Division play on Wednesday when they travel to Los Angeles Harbor College for a 5:00 p.m. game.

The Mounties (15-5) led from start to finish, with Cerritos keeping it close through the first period. After freshman Precious Yerena (Downey HS) hit a jumper with 2:13 left in the stanza, the Falcons trailed just 14-10. But Mt. SAC would go on to outscore them, 23-14 in the second period. It was still a tight game early in the second quarter, as sophomore Sarah Hernandez (St. Paul HS) kept the team close at 20-16 with 7:59 left in the first half, and followed with the team's next four points, making it a 22-20 Mountie lead. But after a 17-4 run the remainder of the half put the Mounties in front, 39-24.

Continuing to battle, the Falcons could never get closer than the 15-point halftime deficit. Hernandez led the team with 11 points and nine rebounds, with Yerena contributing nine points. Sophomore point huard Mariah Lora (Warren HS) added eight points, with sophomore Madison Lane (Mayfair HS) pulling down a career-high seven rebounds off he bench. Freshman Nicole Lizarraga (Cantwell Sacred Heart HS) posted seven points and six rebounds for Cerritos.
