Led by four first place finishes and a pair of second place finishes, the Cerritos College wrestling team compiled enough points to win the West Hills Tournament on Saturday. The Falcons finished with 165.5 team points and held off second place Fresno City College, who had 153.5 points and third place Cuesta College with 142 points. The team will host West Hills College Lemoore at 6:00 p.m. on Friday in their first home match of the season.

Winning championships were sophomore Dustin Kirk (Elsinore HS) at 133 pounds, freshman Antonio McKee (Long Beach Poly HS) at 149 pounds, sophomore Keanu Tom (Los Alamitos HS) at 157 pounds and 285-pound sophomore Robert Chism (Downey HS). McKee was named the tournament's Outstanding Lower weight wrestler and Chism was awarded the Outstanding Upper weight wrestler.

In the four matches for Chism, he ended each of them with a pin before the first period came to a close. After a fall in 2:04 over Kris Ruffin of Lassen College, Chism followed with a pin in 2:20 over Jacob Richards of Sacramento City College. In the semifinals, Cesar Garcia of Sacramento City lasted just :32 seconds, while Chism finished off Jimmy Dawson of Sierra College in 1:15 for the championship.

As for McKee, he won five matches, including a pair of wins by pinfall and a major decision, which came in the semifinals over Isiah Alva of Fresno City College. In the championship match, McKee posted a 7-1 win over top-ranked Anthony Rubio of Chabot College. Top-seeded Kirk easily won his four matches, which included a 16-1 technical fall in his opening match, followed by a pin in 2:31 over Darren Nguyen of Chabot College. In the semifinals, Kirk recorded an 11-3 major decision over George Sakkas of Cuesta College and then registered a 9-2 win over #2-seeded Travis Roberts os Sierra College.

The fourth individual champion for the Falcons, Tom, had a pair of pins and a tecnhical fall in his first three matches to reach the finals. He pinned both Anthony Dehoyos of San Joaquin Delta College in 2:30 and Isidro Arroyo of Fresno City College in 4:59 before a 21-6 technical fall over Justin Jauregui of Cuesta sent him to the finals. Facing #2-seeded Adrian Gomez of Fresno City, Tom earned the title with a 5-2 decision.

Sophomore Dylan Clarke (Burnt Hills, NY HS) advanced to the finals at 174 pounds, but was defeated, 9-3 by top-seeded Moe Nassar of Fresno City College. Clarke opened with a pair of byes before pinning Alex Briano of Sacramento City in 2:19 and then posted an 11-3 major decision over Kalen Hastey of Sacramento City to reach the championships. At 184 pounds, sophomore Max Kumashiro (Los Alamitos HS) earned a 9-3 win in his first match before pinning Oscar Flores of Sierra. He followed that up with a 9-2 triumph that sent him into the championships against top-seeded Will Gockel-Figge of Fresno City. In a close match, Kumashiro was defeated, 3-2.

Fighting back in the consolation bracket to finish in third place were sophomore Gary Howe (Los Alamitos HS) at 133 pouns and freshman Oscar Martinez (Centennial HS) at 197 pounds.
