Women's track and field posted some of their best marks of the season at the Cerritos Invitational

In their final meet before the South Coast Conference Prelims, the Cerritos College women's track and field team turned in some excellent marks at the Cal State Los Angeles Invitational. The Falcons recorded three California Community College A Qualifying marks, along with a B Qualifying time in another event. The team will take part in the conference prelims next Tuesday at  El Camino College.

In the 1600-meter relay, the foursome of Charlotte Barrera (El Rancho HS), Isis Johnson (Bellflower HS), Riyanna Jackson (Mayfair HS) and Ashley Miller (Paramount HS) posted a first place time of 3:59.01, which was also a CCC A Qualifying time, which is one step away from being an automatic qualifier for the Southern California Prelims. The same can be said for two throwers, as freshman Angelina Escobar (Bell Gardens HS) finished third overall with an A Qualifying distance of 40.29 meters, with freshman Faitalia Ah-Fook (Warren HS) recording an A Qualifying distance of 42.81 meters in the hammer, which was good for second place in the meet.

The 400-meter relay team of Jazzmine Davis (El Camino Real Charter HS), Miller, Jackson and Aryianna Faircloth (Magnolia HS) posted a B Qualifying time of 49.78, which put them in fifth place on the day.
