Looking for a chance to end their six-match losing streak, the Cerritos College volleyball team recorded a 25-8, 25-7, 25-9 win over visiting Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Friday. The Falcons (6-14, 2-4) have two matches remaining in the season, with the team traveling to Long Beach City College next Wednesday for a 6:00 p.m. match.

The Falcons made quick work of the winless Lady Techsters (0-11, 0-6) and scored points in bunches to get out to early leads in all three sets. Utilizing their entire bench, seven of the nine players posted at least one kill, with only one player recording more than five on the night.

Freshman Sierra Hernandez-Hardy (Bishop Amat HS) led the way with seven kills and did not commit an error, while Jody Suski (Cerritos HS) finished with five kills and no errors, along with adding a team-high seven digs. Also finishing with five kills, freshman Alexia Torres (Downey HS) also recorded the team's lone solo block. Freshman Mirka Granoble (Downey HS) and Lizbeth Vega (Paramount HS) shared the setting duties and combined for 23 assists, while Granoble also posted four service aces and a pair of kills.

Sophomore Regan Stanton (Lakewood HS/Long Beach CC) and freshman Brooke Winquist (Lakewood HS) both checked in with four kills and four digs.
