Playing their final match of the season on Friday, the Cerritos College volleyball team posted a 26-24, 25-22, 25-20 South Coast Conference South Division sweep over visiting Los Angeles Harbor College. The Falcons (6-16, 3-5) finished their campaign with wins in two of their last three matches, which includes the win over the Seahawks (7-12, 2-5), who won the first meeting in three sets.

Leading throughout the first set, Cerritos saw their advantage dwindle until the Seahawks tied the match at 20-20. Coming out of a timeout, sophomore Jody Suski (Cerritos HS) registered a kill, followed by an LA Harbor attacking error. Battling back, the Seahawks took a 24-23 advantage and were serving for set point. A service error tied the match before Suski drove home a pair of kills to allow the Falcons to take the first set, 26-24.

A back and forth second set saw both teams hold the lead until LA Harbor pulled out to a 15-12 advantage. Suski and freshman Alexia Torres (Downey HS) each posted kills, along with a Seahawks error, which knotted the set at 15-15. Once again, the Seahawks opened a three-point lead (19-16), only to see the Falcons get a pair of kills from Suski, along with a service ace from freshman Lizbeth Vega (Paramount HS). Tied at 22-22, freshman Sierra Hernandez-Hardy (Bishop Amat HS) put the team in front by a point before the set was won after a pair of LA Harbor attack errors.

Cerritos rode their momentum to a 16-9 lead in the third set, with the Seahawks get a close as 24-20 after a pair of attack errors and a service ace. But there was Suski once again to finish the night with her 20th kill and secure the three-set sweep.

Along with her 20 kills, Suski also added seven digs, while the pair of Torres and freshman Brooke Winquist (Lakewood HS) each added five kills. Freshman Mirka Granoble (Downey HS) directed the offense with 27 assists, along with eight digs and a pair of kills, with sophomore Regan Stanton (Lakewood HS/Long Beach CC) accounting for a match-high 17 digs and finished with five assists.
