In their final two games at the Chaffey Tournament on Saturday, the Cerritos College women's water polo team were defeated in one game that was tight and another where they fell behind early. The Falcons (3-6) dropped a 12-10 decision to Fresno City College to start the day and then lost to San Diego Mesa College, 12-6. The team will resume South Coast Conference play on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. when they travel to El Camino College.

Cerritos vs. Fresno City: The Falcons appeared to be in good shape to post a win, but several missed scoring chances and turnovers hurt them in the second half. The Rams outscored Cerritos, 7-5 in the second half, which was the difference in the game after they were knotted, 5-5 at intermission. Four different players scored twice for the Falcons, as freshmen Channon Owens (Kennedy HS), Jenny Parra (Schurr HS), Vanessa Hinojosa (Bell Gardens HS) and Mikaela Padilla (Schurr HS) provided the offense. Sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Rabb (Gahr HS) posted six blocks to keep the team close in the game.

Cerritos vs. San Diego Mesa: Fresh off beating state power Riverside City College, the Olympians opened up a 7-3 lead at halftime and added four more third period goals before the Falcons could respond. Hinojosa posted a pair of goals, with Rabb turning away eight shots.
