The Cerritos College women's water polo team wasn't able to stay with Long Beach City College in their South Coast Conference match on Monday. The Falcons (5-12, 2-3) trailed only 3-1 after the first period, but went on to lose, 14-5. The team has one more conference match before the SCC Tournament and will host Pasadena City College at 3:00 p.m. next Wednesday.

In the loss to the Vikings, the Falcons turned the ball over nine times in the first period, but trailed by just two goals. Scoring was tough to come by for Cerritos, as they were able to get just two shots past the LBCC goalie in the second half.

Five different players scored once for the Falcons, with freshman Mikaela Padilla (Schurr HS) leading the team with three steals. Sophomore goalie Amanda Rabb (Gahr HS) posted five saves and added a pair of steals, with Vanessa Hinojosa (Bell Gardens HS), Lucila Davies (Santa Fe HS), Maria Figueroa (Schurr HS) and Valerie Barboza (Paramount HS) joining Padilla with one goal each.
