W. Water Polo: Falcons have five earn All-Conference honors

After coming in third place in the South Coast Conference, the Cerritos College women's water polo team placed five on the all-conference team. The Falcons (10-16) won two of their three games at the conference tournament, including a 9-8 decision over Chaffey College to capture third place and end their season on a winning note.

A quartet of freshmen players received post-season honors, as Jenny Parra (Schurr HS) and Vanessa Hinojosa (Bell Gardens HS) were selected 1st Team All-South Coast Conference, while Channon Owens (Kennedy HS) and Mikaela Padilla (Schurr HS) were named to the 2nd Team. Sophomore Amanda Rabb (Gahr HS) was named Honorable Mention.

Parra played in all 25 games and finished third on the team with 26 goals, while her 55 steals were second on the squad. She also added 16 assists on the season. As for Hinojosa, she led the team with 58 goals and posted 20 steals. Owens led the team with 74 steals, while her 18 goals were fourth on the team and her 21 helpers were second. Padilla finished the year second on the team with 30 goals, along with a team-leading 23 assists and 30 steals. Rabb appeared all season in goal and recorded 137 blocks while posting 22 steals. She also scored a goal while playing in the field.
