W. Wrestling: First conference match ends with 24-15 win

Competing in the first conference match in the history of women's wresting in CCCAA history, Cerritos College recorded a 24-15 win over host East Los Angeles College on Thursday. The Falcons will travel to Fresno City College next Saturday for the CCCAA Team Dual Meet State Championships.

In the win over the Huskies, seven of the 10 weights were competed, with the other three being double defaults.

Cerritos did pick up a pair of default wins, with freshman 109-pound Jessica Hong (Western HS) and freshman 160-pound Aine Drury (Westminster HS) earning six team points in each of those weight classifications. Of the matches that were competed, the Falcons won two of the five.

At 148 pounds, freshman Jaylene Martinez (Whittier HS) earned a win by injury default, with 170-pound Nile Jernigan (Cerritos HS) recording a pin in her match.
