Competing in the Sacramento City Tournament on Saturday, the Cerritos College women's wrestling team won championships in three different weight classifications. Next up for the team will be a home dual meet against Fresno City College at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

The first individual champion for the Falcons was freshman 116-pound Alyssa Rodriguez (Mayfair HS), who pinned all four of her opponents for the title. Competing in a series of five rounds, Rodriguez was the only one to win all four of her matches, which included an early third period pin against second place Hailey Teodoro of Mt. San Antonio College.

Freshman 160-pound Aine Drury (Westminster HS) won her third tournament title of the season, as she earned pins in all three of her matches. In the finals, Drury needed 7:24 to finally pin Gallilea Garcia-Salazar of East Los Angeles College. The final champion was freshman 180-pound Nile Jernigan (Cerritos HS), who earned a pair of pins in her first two matches before taking on freshman teammate Natalie Resendiz (El Toro HS) in the finals. Jernigan concluded her day with a 14-3 victtory.

The tournament combined the 102 and 109-pound weight classes, with freshman Jessica Hong (Western HS) coming in second place, as she split her two matches.
