After the first six weight classifications were completed in their conference match against host Mt. San Antonio College on Thursday, the Cerritos College women's wrestling team was trailing, 16-12. The Falcons were able to win the last four weights - three by pin - to come away with a 36-16 win over the Mounties. Cerritos will now enter the East Los Angeles Tournament this Saturday.

The comeback started ayt 148 pounds, as freshman Aine Drury (Westminster HS) remained undefeated on the season when she pinned Elizabeth Carrillo in just 1:19. Last weekend, Drury dispatched Carrillo in only :36 seconds at the CCCAA State Dual Championships. Those six team points put Cerritos in front, and they continued that momentum the remainder of the match.

Freshman 160-pound Natalie Flores (Downey HS) followed with a pin over Haley Huynh in 4:42 and was leading, 8-2 at the time of the decision. At 180 pounds, freshman Natalie Resendiz (El Toro HS) finished off Dorothy Stufkenborg in 2:32 after opening a 2-0 lead before her first period win. Cerritos closed out the match by receiving a forfeit win at 220 pounds. They also received a forfeit win at 116 pounds.

Also winning on the day was freshman 123-pound Alyssa Rodriguez (Mayfair HS), who pinned Hailey Cortez in just :28 seconds, She quickly scored a takedown and a three-point near-fall before finishing up the match with a win.
