Competing in their final dual of the season, the Cerritos College women's wrestling team picked up two more wins in their inaugural year. The Falcons (8-1), who are ranked #1 in the state, earned home wins over both Fresno City College (42-16) and Palomar College (40-12). The team will serve as the host of the CCCAA State Championships on April 22. Cerritos already captured the CCCAA Team Dual State Championship earlier in the season.

The match against the Rams consisted of only five matches, with Cerritos picking up wins in two of them. Resting the majority of their starters, the Falcons earned both of their wins via pin. At 128 pounds, freshman Jewelysa Funakoshi (West Torrance HS) and freshman 136-pound Savannah Valle (Warren HS) both recording their wins in the first period. Funakoshi jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and was able to pin Daniela Campa in 1:10. As for Valle, she also posted a quick takedown against Horizon Botello before getting her on her back and posting the win.

Taking on the Comets, Cerritos received five forfeit wins, and recorded wins in two of the matches. Funakoshi finished off her day with an exciting 18-8 win over Anastasia Tolentino at 128 pounds. In the match, Funakoshi registered two four-point nearfalls and at one point in the third period was on her back and in jeopardy of losing the match. But she was able to reverse Tolentino and went on to register the win. Freshman 148-pound Jaylene Martinez (Whittier HS) needed 2:17 to finish off Santana Gonzales, as she picked up a takedown and four-point nearfall before closing out the match.

The day ended with an exhibition match with a pair of top-ranked wrestlers at their respective weights. Freshman Aine Drury (Westminster HS), who's ranked #1 in the state at 148 pounds, faced off against Palomar's Sierra Medford, the #1-ranked wrestler at 160 pounds. Drury got Medford on her back in the first :30 seconds of the match, and after receiving four points for a nearfall, received the pin with 1:38 left in the period.
