The Cerritos College softball team had trouble finding hits in their 8-0 loss to host Palomar College on Tuesday. The Falcons were limited to just two singles in their five-inning setback, their third loss in a row, which drops their season record to 2-3. The team will look to turn things around when they travel to Saddleback College for a 3:00 p.m. game on Wednesday.

After allowing single runs in the second and third innings, sophomore pitcher Lily Cornejo (Paramount HS) struggled in the fourth inning, which turned out to be a six-run stanza for the Comets. A one-out hit batter was followed by four consecutive hits, which led to freshman Jamie Ramirez (El Rancho HS) stepping into the circle. She surrendered a pair of run-scoring hits in the three batters she faced, before Cornejo (0-1) came back in to finish the game.

Sophomore Aubrey Formano (St. Paul HS/Fullerton College) singled in the third inning and freshman Haley Whitney (Warren HS) reached base on a base hit in the fourth inning for the team's lone hits on the day.
