The Cerritos College softball team picked up their third straight win on Thursday, as they posted a 10-2, six-inning South Coast Conference win over host Long Beach City College. The win improved the Falcons record to 7-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play. The team will be on the road on Friday, as they travel to College of the Canyons for a 2:00 p.m. non-conference game.

With the scored tied at 1-1, Cerritos picked up three runs in the top of the second inning, and after two more in the fourth, put the game out of reach with four runs in the sixth inning. Sophomore pitcher Kayla Klein (La Habra HS/Texas A&M University) went the distance to earn the win, as she allowed six hits and struck out seven batters, including the final six batters.

Offensively, freshman Ariana Mejia (Gahr HS) delivered a two-run single in the second inning, while freshmen Jamie Ramirez (El Rancho HS) and Stephanie Olivas (Warren HS) each collected RBI base hits in the fourth inning. Olivas followed with a two-run double in the sixth inning with sophomore Aubrey Formano (St. Paul HS/Fullerton College) and sophomore Katie Caraballo (El Rancho HS/Fullerton College) each adding run-scoring hits. The trio of Olivas, Ramirez and Formano each had two hits on the day for the Falcons.
