After finishing second and third places, respectively, in their South Coast Conference Tournaments, both the Cerritos College men's and women's water polo teams have advanced to the Southern California Regional Playoffs. Taking place at Los Angeles Valley College this weekend, the Falcon men's team was seeded #6 out of 10 teams and will face the host Monarchs at 12:45 p.m. on Friday. The women's team earned the 12th and final spot in the post season and will take on conference rival Long Beach City College at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.

The Cerritos men's team (16-12) faced the #3-seeded Monarchs at the Riverside City Tournament earlier in the season and suffered a 12-4 setback. LA Valley won the championship of the Western State Conference.

As for the women's team (13-11), they will be taking on the Vikings, who won the conference tournament and defeated the Falcons, 9-7 in a close conference match in their only meeting. A win by the women's team will send them to a 3:15 p.m. game against #4-seeded Golden West on Friday, while a men's Falcon win will send them to the semifinals on Saturday morning at 9:45 a.m.
