Facing Los Angeles Harbor College for the second time in five days, the Cerritos College men's basketball team shot 53% from the field in the second half and pulled away for an 89-62 win. The win improves the Falcons record to 14-9 overall and their 5-3 South Coast Conference South Division record puts them in a three-way tie for second place. The team will travel to El Camino College on Wednesday for a 5:00 p.m. divisional game.

Leading 48-39 early in the second half, Cerritos received three-pointers from sophomore Dorian Harris (Cerritos HS), freshman Jalen Shores (Lakewood HS) and then another from Harris in their next three possessions to open up a 57-41 advantage with 16:44 remaining. The lead swelled to 18 points (69-51) after sophomore Cerroy Chenault (Warren HS) hit a three-pointer with 10:41 left and the Falcons were never threatened the remainder of the game.

As a team, Cerritos was consistent from the field in both halves as they hit 53% from the field, while they supported that by netting 10-of-20 from long range. It was a balanced team effort, as five players scored in double-figures, with Harris leading the way with 22 points. He connected on 7-of-9 shooting, to go along with 4-of-6 from three-point range and also hauled in four rebounds.

The trio of Shores, sophomore Juice Belvin (St. Anthony HS) and freshman Gorden Boykins (St. Anthony HS) all scored 12 points, with Belvin and Boykins each pulling down nine rebounds from their guard position. Chenault came off the bench to score 11 points, with freshman Malik Johnson (Compton HS) accounting for eight points, five assists and four rebounds in the win.
