Closing out their South Coast Conference South Division schedule on Friday, the Cerritos College men's basketball team posted a 100-63 win over host Compton College. The Falcons (16-9, 7-3), who still have two non-conference games remaining, finished in a three-way tie for the division championship. The team will travel to Mt. San Antonio College for a 5:00 p.m. game next Wednesday.

It was early on in the game before Cerritos started hitting on their shots, which allowed them to open a lead that continually add to, which eventually led to them hitting the century mark for the second time this year.

Sophomore Dorian Harris (Cerritos HS), who converted 7-of-8 three pointers on the night, drained long range jumpers on consecutive possessions to give the Falcons a 19-11 lead just six minutes into the game. After sophomore Juice Belvin (St. Anthony HS) scored four straight points, Harris stayed hot with another trey, which made it a 26-14 advantage.

By the end of the first half, the Falcons held a comfortable 59-27 lead, with Harris accounting for 23 points. As a team, Cerritos converted seven three-pointers and shot 58% from the field in the first half, while holding the Tartars (11-14, 5-5) to just 33% shooting from the field.

In the first meeting, a 70-68 Compton win, the Falcons were unable to contain Bilal Mike, who scored 26 points. In their second meeting, Mike was limited to six points and the Tartars converted just 36% of their field goals in the game.

In addition to his 26 points, Harris added eight rebounds, with Belvin turning in a double-double. He finished with 13 points, 13 rebounds and four assists. The Falcons also received 14 points and four assists from freshman Jalen Shores (Lakewood HS), with sophomore Andre Fields (Warren HS) contributing 13 points off the bench. Fresham Malik Johnson (Compton HS) finished with 12 points and five rebounds, with freshman center Jackson Barnhill (Long Beach Wilson HS) recording eight points, which included a pair of three-pointers.
