In their final regular season game, the Cerritos College men's basketball team dropped a 63-52 decision to host Palomar College. The Falcons (17-10), tri-champions of the South Coast Conference South Division, will find out on Sunday where they have been seeded for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The first round will take place on Tuesday, March 1. There are 22 teams that make the postseason with the top six earning a first round bye.

Leading at halftime, the Falcons struggled against the tough Comets (18-10) defense in the second half. As a result, they shot only 33% from the field in the final 20 minutes.

After freshman Jalen Shores (Lakewood HS) opened the second half with a jumper to give Cerritos a 31-27 lead, they went 8:08 before scoring their next points. Over that time period, Palomar outscored them, 17-0 with the Falcons going 0-for-7 from the field with four turnovers. The closest they would get is 57-48 with 4:00 left in the game.

Sophomore Juice Belvin (St. Anthony HS) led the team with 12 points and added five rebounds, with freshman Jackson Barnhill (Long Beach Wilson HS) contributing 10 points and six caroms. Freshman Garrett Bell (Sonora HS) added six points off the bench on a pair of three-pointers, with sophomore Dorian Harris (Cerritos HS) scoring six points.
