After coming in second place in the deep South Coast Conference, the Cerritos College men's soccer team was seeded #2 for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Falcons (11-3-7) earned a first round bye for the post-season and will play the winner of the game between #7 Santiago Canyon College and #10 East Los Angeles College, who will face each other on Saturday. The second round playoff game will take place on the Cerritos Soccer Field at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25.

The Falcons have not faced Santiago Canyon yet this season. The Hawks finished in second place in the Orange Empire Conference, one of four teams from that conference to make the post-season. As for the Huskies, they came in fifth place in the South Coast Conference and are one of six teams to advance to the playoffs.

Cerritos defeated East LA, 2-1 in their first meeting, while they tied 1-1 in their second encounter. This marks the fifth time since 2007 that the Falcons have been seeded #2 for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. They won the 2008 state championship as the #2 seed, their second in school history (2006).
