As the lone Cerritos College men's cross country entry at the CCCAA State Championships on Saturday, Joshua Williams (Los Alamitos HS) finished in 97th place. The Falcons just missed out on qualifying for the state championships as a team, but Williams was able to turn in a good enough time at the Southern California Championships to advance to the finals.
Competing in the 4-mile course at Woodward Park in Fresno, Williams was the 13th runner from the South Coast Conference to complete the course, as he turned in a time of 22:04.0. His time was 1:17 faster than the time he recorded in the season-opening meet on the same course. On his last mile, Williams was able to pull past several runners to finished in 97th out of 166 runners who completed the course.
