M. Cross Country: Fourth place finish for the Falcons at the SCC Championships

Competing in the South Coast Conference Championships at Compton Wilson Park on Friday, the Cerritos College men's cross country finished in fourth place. The Falcons, who finished with 102 team points, were edged out of third place by El Camino College, who had 91 team points. The team will now compete in the Southern California Championships, which will take place next Friday at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.

The four-mile course was dominated by conference champion Mt. San Antonio College, who had the first six finishers and seven of the first eight to cross the finish line. The first Falcon to conquer the course was Joshua Williams (Los Alamitos HS), who posted a time of 22.04.3, which put him in 14th place overall out of 73 entries. He was followed by Ryan Perdomo (El Rancho HS), who was part of a pack of five runners that crossed the finish line within three seconds of each other and earned a 24th overall placing in a time of 22:48.9.

After Isaac Gonzalez (Norwalk HS) turned in a 28th place time of 22:59.7, Cerritos had two pair of runners finish back-to-back, with the tandem of Jose Solares (Segerstrom HS) and Marcus Hughes (Carson HS) each record a time of 23:14.0, which netted them 32nd and 33rd places, respectively. The duo of Joe Munoz (Long Beach Jordan HS), who placed 37th overall time a time of 23:32.0 and Roy Garcia (Salesian HS) taking 38th overall with a clocking of 23:42.8, helped round out the team's scoring.

Also competing for the Falcons were Joshua Granados (California HS; 24:06.4; 41st place) and Daniel Gomez (Santa Fe HS; 25:04.3; 51st place).
