M. Cross Country: Meet in San Diego nets Falcons 11th place finish

Competing in San Diego for the second week in a row, the Cerritos College men's cross country team placed 11th at the San Diego Mesa Invitational on Friday. The Falcons finished with 303 team points and were right behind South Coast Conference foe El Camino College, who placed 10th with 300 team points. The team will run in the Vanguard Invitational next Friday at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.

Leading the 11-man team at the meet was sophomore Joshua Williams (Los Alamitos HS), who finished in 56th place overall with a clocking of 22:24.36, which was nearly a minute ahead of the next Cerritos runner to complete the four-mile course. That runner was Ryan Perdomo (El Rancho HS), who posted a 98th place time of 23:19.09, while freshman Joshua Granados (California HS) wasn't far behind and recorded a time of 23:36.01, good for 111th place.

Five spots behind in 116th place was freshman Isaac Gonzalez (Norwalk HS) with a clocking of 23:45.90, with the duo of Omar Reina (El Rancho HS) and Jose Solares (Segerstrom HS) finishing less than two seconds apart. Reyna took 124th place overall in 24:08.04, with Solares coming in 126th place at 24:09.98. Two seconds later, Joe Munoz (Long Beach Jordan HS) crossed the finish line in 24:11.73, which put him in 129th place.

Also competing for the Falcons in the day were Marcus Hughes (Carson HS; 25:12.11; 148th place), Jorge Reyes (El Rancho HS; 25:22.02; 152nd place), Daniel Gomez (Santa Fe HS; 25:39.25; 154th place) and Nathan Morelli (Bellflower HS; 30:16.42; 186th place).
