In their best offensive effort of the season, the Cerritos College women's soccer team scored their most goals since the second game of the season. The Falcons (2-8-1, 0-4-0), who got three past the Pasadena City College defense, still came up short, 4-3 in a South Coast Conference setback on Friday. The team will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday when they travel to Rio Hondo College for a 4:00 p.m. conference game.

"Everything we've been working on in practice is now starting to come through in games," said interim head coach Tessa Troglia, who's team outshot the Lancers, 27-13 with 13 of their shots on goal.

The Falcons took a quick 1-0 lead in the ninth minute when freshman Reghan Roscoe (Montwood, TX HS) and Casandra Gomez (Norwalk HS) teamed up to account for the third time in the last two games. On the play, Roscoe got off the initial strike, which was turned away by Pasadena City goalkeeper Christina Echeverrie. However, the rebound was in the air and Gomez was there to head the ball into the net.

Pasadena City (6-6-2, 2-1-1) came back and struck twice in a little over a minute to take a 2-1 lead and then went up, 3-1 in the 23rd minute on a free kick. But before halftime, Cerritos drew within a goal when sophomore Lauren Vazquez (Mayfair HS) was able to complete the play when she scored on a one-timer from a pass in the 18-yard box from freshman Aryah Ayala (Cerritos HS).

But the second half would see the Lancers regain their two-goal lead with a tally in the 69th minute until sophomore Meghan Legayada (Sunny Hills HS) made it a 4-3 affair with her goal in the 74th minute.

Although she didn't score, sophomore Katie Alexander (Mayfair HS/Vanguard University) led the team with eight shots, while Gomez, Roscoe and Legayada each took four shots.
