Sophomore diver Yuridia Vela (Schurr HS) finished fourth in the 1-meter event in the South Coast Conference Championships at El Camino College over the weekend. Vela, who finished with 146.25 points, missed out on earning an alternate position for the state championships, while she didn't compete in the 3-meter event.

Vela trailed a trio of Chaffey College divers in the 1-meter competition, with the final alternate position going to Madison Kishineff of Santa Monica College, who compiled 164.90 points. As a freshman, Vela qualified for the state-championships, but did not dive at that level this season.

Freshman Baije Logova (Cabrillo HS) placed ninth in the conference championships in the 1-meter event (88.20 points), while her 78.50 points earned her a seventh place at the 3-meter level.
