In the semifinal game of the South Coast Conference Tournament, the Cerritos College women's water polo team dropped an 8-5 decision to Mt. San Antonio College. The loss by the Falcons  (15-10) at Pasadena City College sends them into the third place game where they will now face Chaffey at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.

In their first meeting against the Mounties, Cerritos posted a hard-fought 5-3 win, but surrendered three straight goals after tying the game at 3-3 by halftime in the tournament. The Mounties scored the lone goal in the third quarter and then posted two straight to start the fourth quarter before the Falcons could respond.

Sophomore Mikaela Padilla (Schurr HS) got the team to within 6-4, but Mt. SAC came back with a goal, while the Falcons received a goal from freshman Isabella Sierra (California HS) with 2:23 left in the game. However, it would be the last goal of the day by Cerritos, who posted 20 shots, but turned the ball over 12 times.

Sierra led the team with three goals, while five different players had one assist. Sophomore Jenny Parra (Schurr HS) led the team with three steals, with freshman goalkeeper Ivanna Tostado (Troy HS) recording six saves.
