Results

In their final competition before the South Coast Conference Championships, the Cerritos College women's cross country team finished 15th at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Saturday. The Falcons, one of only two community colleges in the race, finished with 380 team points. The team will take two weeks to train for the conference championships, which will take place at the Palos Verdes XC Course on October 28.

Running the 6K course, the first Cerritos runner to cross the finish line was Samantha Martinez (Fountain Valley HS), whose time of 23:47.4 was 71st overall out of 184 runners on the day. There were packs of runners sprinting for the finish line and each Falcon runners were in one of them. Next up was Megan Feitz (Fountain Valley HS) with a clocking of 23:59.3, who finished in a dead heat with one other runner and edged out two others to come in 86th place.

Finishing less than a second ahead of another runner was Delilah Chavez (Lakewood HS) with a 107th place time of 24:34.3, while Leslie Juarez (Warren HS) capped off the team's scoring with a 145th place time of 25:56.3, as she crossed the finish line just ahead of three other competitors. The final Cerritos runner on the day was Mia Najera (Warren HS), as her time of 26:48.3 placed her 162nd.
