The Cerritos College men's tennis team opened the 2015 season with a convincing 8-1 non-conference win at Mt. San Jacinto College on Tuesday. Playing against a shorthanded team, the Falcons earned three points via default and had the match wrapped up before the start of doubles play. The team will now host Glendale College at 2:00 p.m. in another non-conference match.

Taking over the team's #1 singles position, sophomore Amadi Kagoma (Malezi School, Kenya) posted a 6-2, 6-1 win, as Cerritos won all four of the singles matches in straight sets. Freshman Antonio Torrebella-Clark (Cypress HS) posted a close 7-5 win in his first set, and rode that momentum to a 6-0 win in the second set in the #2 position. The freshmen duo of Mark Antoniuk (W. 124 School, Russia) and Henry Ayesiga (Malezi School, Kenya) each won in quick fashion.

The Falcons dropped their only team point in the #1 doubles spot, as Antoniuk and freshman Agustin Lombardi (E.S.O.S., Argentina) were defeated, 9-7, while freshman Mathieu David (Nimes, France) and sophomore Milos Zoric (Gimnazjia Indija, Serbia) recorded an 8-3 victory.
