It appears having a week between matches didn't seem to bother the Cerritos College men's tennis team. The Falcons improved to 6-1 on the season with their 8-1 non-conference win over visiting Los Angeles Pierce College on Tuesday. The team will play their next two matches on the road, as they travel to Saddleback College on Thursday and then on Friday they're off to Orange Coast College.

Cerritos opened the match with a pair of easy doubles wins, while they were able to climb back from a 6-3 deficit in the #1 doubles match to pull out a 9-8 win. Sophomore Amadi Kagoma (Malezi School, Kenya) was teaming with countryman Henry Ayesiga (Malezi School, Kenya) for the second time this season and they battled back for their win.

Kagoma pulled out a 6-3, 7-6 win in the top singles match, while freshman Agustin Lombardi (E.S.O.S., Argentina) fell to Manish Kumar, 3-6, 6-7 in the #2 position on the singles ladder. It was a rematch of their pre-season ITA tournament match, with Lombardi unable to post wins in either meeting. Ayesiga dropped into the #3 spot in the lineup and had no trouble defeating Nick Nerhulas, 6-0, 6-0.

The bottom of the ladder also produced straight set wins, with sophomore Milos Zoric (Gimnazjia Indija, Serbia) recording a 6-4, 6-3 win, while his doubles partner, freshman Mathieu David (Nimes, France) won, 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Mark Antoniuk (W. 124 School, Russia) teamed with Lombardi in their doubles win, and finished off Joshua Correa in singles, 6-2, 6-2.
