Several players put up big numbers for the Cerritos College softball team in their 19-3, five-inning, South Coast Conference win over host El Camino on Tuesday. The Falcons (8-3, 1-0) will now host Long Beach City on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Nancy Kelly Field.

On the day, Cerritos scored in four of the five innings, including putting up nine runs in the top of the second inning. With the bases loaded and one out, sophomore third baseman Jenny Navarro (Warren HS) reached on a fielder's choice, while a run scored on a fielding error by El Camino. It was the first of six defensive miscues by El Camino, who won the conference championship last year.

The inning continued on an RBI walk to sophomore outfielder Mackenzie Kutzke (Los Alamitos HS/University of Montana), with sophomore outfielder Jezeree Misaalefua (Carson HS/Long Beach CC) following with a two-run double. Another error led to a Cerritos run, while sophomore shortstop Raquel Norzagaray (Pioneer HS) brought home a pair with a triple. After a sacrifice fly by sophomore catcher Jesseca Martinez (Lakewood HS) scored a run, sophomore second baseman Jenny Collazo (Paramount HS) finished off the scoring with an RBI single.

Collazo, who went 4-for-4 with four runs scored and five RBI, tripled home two more runs in the fourth inning and added a pair on a single in the fifth. As for Misaalefua, she went 4-for-4 with three RBI, with freshman outfielder Kimberly Olivas (Warren HS) finishing with a 3-for-4 day with three runs scored and two RBI. As a team, Cerritos finished with 18 hits, with Norzagary (2-for-3, two RBI) and sophomore Camille Manzo (La Habra HS/Sterling, KS College) recording two hits and scoring three times.

In the circle, freshman Kristen Voller (Norco HS) earned the win by pitching four innings and allowed three runs on four hits, while Navarro pitched the fifth inning. Voller (4-3) had only allowed one hit until El Camino touched her up for three runs on three hits.
