In their first two meetings against El Camino College in South Coast Conference play, the Cerritos College softball team recorded a pair of wins. On Tuesday, the Falcons (23-9, 11-4) saw a 4-3 lead last a very short period of time, as the Warriors (20-11, 10-5) scored four straight runs, which resulted in a 7-5 loss. The team will look to rebound on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. when they host Long Beach City College at Nancy Kelly Field.

Trailing 3-0 heading into the top of the fourth inning, Cerritos started a two-out rally with a single by freshman first baseman Kylee Brown (Mayfair HS). Sophomore second baseman Jenny Collazo (Paramount HS) followed with a double, with sophomore shortstop Camille Manzo (La Habra HS/Sterling (KS) College) getting the team on the board with a two-run double. It was a 3-3 game after freshman outfielder Kimberly Olivas (Warren HS) singled home Manzo. Freshman designated player Jissel Caballero (Warren HS) put the team in front with an RBI single.

However, the Warriors responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning off starting pitcher Kristen Voller (Norco HS) for a 5-4 deficit. El Camino pushed another run across the plate in the fifth inning to chase Voller, with Caballero surrendering a single run in the sixth on a Raelani Camez inside the park home run.

Cerritos made a move in the seventh inning when sophomore outfielder Mackenzie Kutzke (Los Alamitos HS/University of Montana) led off with a double and moved to third base on an infield single by sophomore outfielder Jezeree Misaalefua (Carson HS/Long Beach CC). Sophomore pinch-hitter Raquel Norzagaray (Pioneer HS) walked with one out to load the bases for Brown. She hit into a fielder's choice, which brought home a run, but another ground ball forced the third out of the inning to end the game.
