From the start of their South Coast Conference game against visiting Los Angeles Harbor College, the Cerritos College softball team had their bats in high gear. The Falcons scored nine runs in the bottom of the first inning and added four more in the second inning to record a 13-0, 5-inning win over the Seahawks. It was the fifth win in a row for Cerritos (15-4, 5-1) and 10th in their last 11 games. They will travel to Cypress College on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference game.

Freshman outfielder Kimberly Olivas (Warren HS) got the inning started with a base hit, with sophomore shortstop Jenny Collazo (Paramount HS) drawing a walk and sophomore outfielder Mackenzie Kutzke (Los Alamitos HS/University of Montana) getting hit by a pitch. That loaded the bases for sophomore outfielder Jezeree Misaalefua (Carson HS/Long Beach CC), who cleared them with a triple to right-center field.

Sophomore shortstop Raquel Norzagaray (Pioneer HS) drove in Misaalefua with a single, followed by singles from freshman designated player Stephanie Chuc (El Rancho HS) and sophomore catcher Jesseca Martinez (Lakewood HS). A fielding error scored another run, with Olivas driving in a run in her second time at the plate in the inning. The scoring in the stanza concluded with a three-run double from Collazo.

Freshman pitcher Kristen Voller (Norco HS) pitched the first three innings and struck out the first eight batters she faced. She allowed a single in the third inning before recording the final out. Sophomore Jenny Navarro (Warren HS) tossed the final two innings and allowed a lone single.

Martinez drove in a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning with a base hit, while Olivas capped off the scoring with a two-run home run, her fourth of the season. She finished the day going 3-for-3 with three RBI and three runs scored, with Collazo and Misaalefua each driving in three runs.
