Freshman first baseman Kylee Brown (Mayfair HS) clubbed a first inning grand slam, which led the Cerritos College softball team to a 10-1, 5-inning win over visiting Pasadena City College. Freshman outfielder Kimberly Olivas (Warren HS) was hit by a pitch with one out, while sophomore outfielder Mackenzie Kutzke (Los Alamitos HS/University of Montana) followed with a single to load the bases for Brown. She hit just her second home run of the year to give Cerritos and early lead, while an RBI double from sophomore catcher Jesseca Martinez (Lakewood HS) put the team ahead, 5-0.

The runs continued in the third inning when sophomore shortstop Camille Manzo (La Habra HS/Sterling (KS) College) reached on a two-base outfield error to lead off the stanza. Freshman designated player Jissel Caballero (Warren HS) followed with a single and advanced to second base on another error, which allowed Manzo to score. Sophomore outfielder Jezeree Misaalefua (Carson HS/Long Beach CC) doubled home Caballero. After a walk to Martinez, Collazo accounted for the next two runs with a double.
