Cerritos College freshman first baseman Kylee Brown (Mayfair HS) hit a home run in her fourth straight game, as the team recorded a 13-0, 5-inning win over visiting Los Angeles Harbor College on Thursday. The win improves the Falcons season record to 26-12, while they remain in second place in the South Coast Conference with a 14-5 mark. They will host Long Beach City College in a rain make-up game at Nancy Kelly Field at noon on Saturday and then have just one more regular season game left.

The Falcons put five runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning against the Seahawks (10-24, 5-15) and capped off the victory with a six-run fourth inning. Mixed within those big innings was the solo home run by Brown, which is her fifth of the season.

In the first inning, freshman designated player Jissel Caballero (Warren HS) brought home the first run, when her single plated sophomore second baseman Jenny Collazo (Paramount HS), who opened the inning with a double. Brown followed with an RBI single, with sophomore outfielder Mackenzie Kutzke (Los Alamitos HS/University of Montana) bringing in a run with an infield out. Sophomore catcher Jesseca Martinez (Lakewood HS) finished off the scoring in the inning with a two-run double.

Freshman pitcher Kristen Voller (Norco HS) tossed a one-hitter over the five innings, with LA Harbor getting their lone hit in the fourth inning. She ended up facing the minimum batters, with Martinez throwing out the would-be base runner and a fifth inning walk getting erased on a game-ending double play.

Several Seahawks errors in the fourth inning aided Cerritos with four of their runs in the fourth inning, with Collazo clubbing a two-run single to finish the scoring on the day.
