Cerritos College sophomore Kimberly Olivas (Warren HS) drew a two-out, bases loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive in the winning run in a 2-1 South Coast Conference crossover game against Pasadena City College on Tuesday at Nancy Kelly Field. The Falcons (4-1), who trailed 1-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, scored single runs in each inning to pull out the win. They will now host Chaffey College in a rain makeup game at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

In the bottom of the seventh, freshman pinch-hitter Carly Gutierrez (Santa Fe HS) reached base on an error by Lancers outfielder Taylor Schaeffer. With one out, freshman first baseman Desiree Flores (Downey HS) laced a tailing double to right field that rolled past Schaeffer, and sophomore Ashley Melendez (Magnolia HS), who returned to the game at first base for Gutierrez, tried to score. She was thrown out at the plate for the second out of the inning. But freshman outfielder Emma Wolff (Cypress HS) and sophomore third baseman Jissel Caballero (Warren HS) each drew two-out walks against Pasadena City (2-4) pitcher Angel Wintercorn.

That loaded the bases for Olivas, who doubled and scored in the sixth inning. She drew a walk, which brought home freshman pinch-runner Andrea Villalta (Norwalk HS) with the winning run.

Sophomore pitcher Kristen Voller (Norco HS) earned the win by pitching the compete game and allowed one run on four hits and struck out seven. The lone Lancer run came in the fifth inning when she hit Brittany Ching to lead off the stanza. A sacrifice bunt was followed by an RBI single from Karina Moreno.

The Falcons tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning when Olivas doubled with two outs. Sophomore second baseman Kylee Brown (Mayfair HS) then drew a walk before a throwing error by Wintercorn allowed Olivas to score.
