For the third game in a row, the Cerritos College softball team recorded a shutout. On Wednesday, the Falcons (7-1) won their fourth game in a row with a 7-0 victory over host Chaffey College in a South Coast Conference crossover game. The team will look to avenge their only loss of the season when they host Mt. San Antonio College in a 3:00 p.m. crossover game.

Cerritos opened the game with a Jissel Caballero (Warren HS) home run to take an early lead. They made it a 2-0 lead in the third inning, as sophomore outfielder Kimberly Olivas (Warren HS) singled, stole second base and scored on a base hit by sophomore second baseman Kylee Brown (Mayfair HS).

Caballero, who earned the win in the circle after allowing just one hit in four innings, contributed in the Falcons four-run fourth inning that opened the game up. Sophomore shortstop Erica Guzman (Enich HS/William Jessup University) led off with a walk, stole second base and advanced to third on a bad throw. With two outs, freshman Lesley Briseno (Cypress HS) drew a walk to put runners on first and third. They scored a pair of runs on a Panthers error, with Caballero following with a double. An Olivas single brought home Caballero with the fourth run of the inning.
