The Cerritos College men's basketball team struggled from the field, which opened the door for hot-shooting Glendale College to post a 72-57 non-conference victory at The Aviary on Friday. The Falcons (4-5) connected on only 38% of their field goals, while the Vaqueros (6-2) were accurate on 53%, and also netted 20 more free throws. Cerritos will have a week to prepare for the College of the Sequoias Tournament next weekend.

A tip-in by sophomore Victor Jones (Lakewood HS) did pull Cerritos to within 45-40 with 11:39 remaining, but after a timeout, Glendale saw Jalen Etienne drain a three-pointer, followed by a pair of free throws from Nick Khan for a 50-40 lead. The advantage for the Vaqueros swelled to 16 points after three Falcon missed shots, with Kahn hitting a jumper and converting two more free throws.

Jones led the team with 13 points, while sophomore Jarion Henry (Kimball, TX HS/Trinity Valley (TX) CC) accounted for 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals off the bench. Sophomore Kevin Conrad (Buena Park HS) added 10 points, with TJ Traylor (Dominguez HS) and Micah Winn (Crenshaw HS) both finishing with six points. Etienne led all scorers with 21 points, while Gor Plavchayan added 16 points and added 12 rebounds and four blocks for Glendale.
