Although they had already clinched at least a share of the South Coast Conference title, the Cerritos College men's basketball team needed a win in their final game to hold the title outright. But a poor shooting performance, along with porous defense resulted in a 76-58 loss to host Los Angeles Harbor College on Friday night. The setback dropped the Falcons (17-10, 10-3) into a three-way tie with the Seahawks (21-6, 10-3) and Long Beach City (18-9, 10-3). The playoff seeding meeting is scheduled for Monday and Cerritos will find out where they are seeded for the post-season.

In the loss to the Seahawks, the Falcons trailed from beginning to end and struggled to find their shot from the very beginning. They converted only 24% of their shots in the first half, but trailed only 30-24, thanks to a couple of timely shots. But in the second half, LA Harbor jumped out to 14-2 start and Cerritos was nowhere to be found the rest of the game.

The Seahawks relied on the outside shooting of Jamar Cannon and Anthony Foster, who were a combined 8-for-12 from three-point range and accounted for 40 of their points. Even with their success from the outside, LA Harbor also outscored Cerritos, 42-24 in the paint, as their fast break was effective in the waning minutes of the game.

Sophomore center Jarion Henry (Kimball, TX HS/Trinity Valley, TX CC) drained a trio of three-pointers and led the team with 19 points and 10 rebounds. But the team's shooting guards combined for just 22 points and were only 8-for-35 from the field, which included 2-for-19 from three-point range. Freshman Micah Winn (Crenshaw HS) scored all 10 of his points in the second half, with freshman guard Austin Pope (Burbank HS) accounting for his seven points in the first half.
