Cerritos College men's basketball sophomore Jarion Henry (Kimball, TX HS/Trinity Valley, TX CC) was named the South Coast Conference South Division Most Valuable Player. Henry is joined on the 1st Team by sophomore forward TJ Traylor (Dominguez HS) and freshman guard Micah Winn (Crenshaw HS), while sophomore guard Victor Jones (Lakewood HS) and freshman guard Austin Pope (Burbank HS) garnered Honorable Mention recognition.

Henry leads the team in scoring (12.3), rebounding (9.8) assists (3.8), steals (1.6) and is third with 30 blocked shots. He has scored a season-high 24 points twice and has pulled down double-digit rebounds in eight of the last nine games, including a season-high 17 against ECC Compton Center. Traylor, who's fourth on the team with an 9.1 scoring average, is also second with a 6.2 rebounding average and has blocked a team-high 54 shots on the year. He pulled down a season-high 19 rebounds against Los Angeles Southwest College and had 18 rebounds and seven blocked shots against Los Angeles Harbor College. As for Winn, he's third on the team in scoring (9.7) and leads the team with a 79.1 free throw shotting percentage. His 24 three-pointers on the year are second on the team and Winn scored a season-high 23 points against Los Angeles Harbor College.

Jones is second on the team with a 10.8 scoring average and averages 3.7 rebounds a game. One of the team's top offensive threats, Jones scored a season-high 26 points against Los Angeles Southwest College and opened the season scoring 21 points against Rio Hondo College. Pope averages 7.6 points and 4.5 rebounds a game and is second on the team with 36 blocked shots. A very versatile player, Pope has scored as many as 14 points in a game, pulled down 10 rebounds and even blocked seven shots in a game.
