With their 82-68 win over Los Angeles Harbor College on Wednesday, the Cerritos College men's basketball team remained in a first place tie. The Falcons (11-8, 4-1) are locked up with Long Beach City College at 4-1 and will now host Los Angeles Trade-Tech College (10-10, 2-3) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Coming into the night, the Falcons, Vikings and Seahawks (14-5, 3-2) all shared the lead in the South Coast Conference South Division. But the convincing win allowed Cerritos to move a game up on LA Harbor with eight more games remaining.

Cerritos was in command after they opened up a double-digit lead in the first half and were never threatened. The lead swelled to as many as 20 points (73-53) with 6:11 remaining, thanks mainly to their solid defense and fast break offense.

Sophomore forward TJ Traylor (Dominguez HS) played huge on defense, as he blocked seven shots and pulled down a game-high 18 rebounds. He got the fast break going and when he wasn't leading the way, he was there to finish, as he scored nine of his 14 points in the second half. He accounted for the first six points of the second half, while sophomore center Jarion Henry (Kimball, TX HS/Trinity Valley, TX CC) also scored in bunches.

Henry, who finished the game with 16 points and 14 rebounds, scored eight of the team's 12 points over a four-minute stretch in the second half, as the Falcons pulled away from LA Harbor. It was also the hot shooting of freshman guard Micah Winn (Crenshaw HS), who netted 8-of-11 shots, to lead all scorers with 23 points. As a team, Cerritos had five players score in double-figures, with sophomore guards Victor Jones (Lakewood HS) and Jordan Reise (Huntington Beach HS) finishing with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
