The Cerritos College men's swimming team closed out their South Coast Conference dual meet season with a 152-118 win over Chaffey College at the Falcon Aquatic Center on Friday. The victory gives the team a 5-2 conference dual meet record, as the team will have one more invitational before competing in the conference tournament. The Falcons will swim in the Pasadena Invitational next weekend.

On the day, Cerritos picked up wins in both relay races, while also earning first place finishes in seven other events. In the 200-yard medley relay, the quartet of Mitchell Bowman (Lakewood HS), Kevin De Leon (El Segundo HS), Jesus Rojas (Colegio Fray Luis Amigo, Venezuela) and Davey Brown (Whittier HS) earned a first place time at 1:46.67 and the team closed the day winning the 400-yard freestyle relay. That quartet consisted of Preston Medina (Downey HS), Nick Apodaca (Downey HS), Jeffrey Park (Cerritos HS) and Daniel Loeza (Hamilton HS) with a clocking of 3:36.06.

Both Roldan and Bowman each won two individual events, with three others earning first place finishes. Rojas posted a time of 1:49.70 to win the 200-yard freestyle, with his finishing time of 55.01 easily beating Park, who came in second place at 1:00.60. Bowman earned wins in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.25) and 200-yard backstroke (2:14.27), with sophomore Joel Bautista (Paramount HS) winning the 200-yard butterfly in 2:08.09.

It was a 1-2-3 finish of Falcons in the 50-yard freestyle, with Apocada's time of 23.00 edging out Brown (23.28) and Medina (23.98). However, Brown did win the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.51, which was just ahead of sophomore Peter Roldan (Downey HS), who placed second in 52.68.

In the diving competition, Randy Encarnacion (Mayfair HS) compiled 88.60 points to come in second place, while Edward Salgado (Paramount HS) finished in third place with 61.60 points.
