At the conclusion of the South Coast Conference Prelims, the Cerritos College men's track and field team sits in second place. Held at Long Beach City College, the Falcons have compiled 30 team points and advanced 30 entries to the South Coast Conference Championships, which will also take place at LB City.
Four events were finals, with Cerritos garnering one championship and a pair of fifth place finishes. Sophomore javelin thrower Tristian Escobar (Bell Gardens HS) easily won the competition with a throw of 57.00 meters, which places him sixth on the school's all-time list. Also earning points for the Falcons was Ismael Guerrero (Downey HS), who came in fourth place (49.48 meters), with the tandem of Andrew Hladek (Liberty, NV HS) and Prinz Singson (Cheyenne Central, WY HS) coming in seventh and eighth places, respectively.
It was a fifth place finish in the pole vault for Hladek, with a clearance of 4.37 meters, which advances him to the Southern California Championships, while sophomore Terrell Coleman (Downey HS) took fifth place in the triple jump at 13.86 meters.
