The Cerritos College men's track and field team had a trio of top three finishes at the CCCAA State Championships, which helped them come in sixth place. Competing at San Diego Mesa College over the weekend, the Falcons finished with 43 team points, with only two other schools from Southern California finishing ahead of them.

Leading the team was sophomore Vincent Calhoun (Long Beach Poly HS), who earned a second place in the high jump and finished in fifth place in the long jump. His teammate, freshman Stacy Chukwumezie (Downey HS) also competed in the long jump and took third place. The Falcons also received a third place finish in the javelin from sophomore Tristian Escobar (Bell Gardens HS) on the first day of competition, with sophomore pole vaulter Andrew Hladek (Liberty, NV HS) taking seventh place.

In the running events, sophomore Dario Robinson (Schurr HS), the state runner-up last year, finished in fourth place in the 110-meter HH, while freshman Jaydon Logan (Artesia HS) posting a strong fourth place in the 400-meter IH. Sophomore Isaiah Marshall (Carson HS) earned a fifth place in the 800 meters, with sophomore Clifford Scott (Carson HS) earning one team point with his eighth place in the 100 meters. The 400-meter relay team of Scott, Nick Garcia (St. Anthony HS), Ricardo Thomas (Warren HS) and Tyric Elliott (Long Beach Poly HS) taking sixth place. Freshman decathlete Luis Gonzalez (Bellflower HS) wound up in ninth place.
