Competing at the 3C2A State Championships at San Mateo College over the weekend, the Cerritos College men's track & field team finished with nine team points, which tied them for 21st place. The Falcons, who had just three entries, received team points from all three in their respective events.

Sophomore sprinter Colby Owens (Milford Mill Academy, MD HS) was clocked in 48.85 in the 400 meters, which earned him a fifth place result. It was off his personal best of the season (48.10), which would have earned him a third place finish.

As for sophomore thrower Micah Norfles (Marina HS), he ended his Falcon career with a fifth place finish in the hammer. He turned in his best distance in his first throw of the state championships, but was unable to improve on that toss, as he fouled in three of his five final attempts. The distance was also a personal best for Norfles and improves his mark as the fourth best in school history.

In the discus, freshman Nasser Brown (Long Beach Millikan HS) was able to place in the top eight with his final throw of 44.90 meters, which was also his best of the season. He sat in eighth place prior to his final throw and needed to beat 47.23 meters, which was the seventh place distance.
