Going up against both community colleges and four-year schools at the Mangrum Invitational at Cal State San Marcos on Friday, the Cerritos College men's track & field team was able to turn in some strong marks. Next weekend, the Falcons will split their team and compete in three meets. Those who have turned in qualifying marks will compete in the Stanford Invitational on Friday and Saturday, while another group will take part in the Chabot Invitational on Friday or the San Francisco State Invitational on Saturday. On Saturday, those who didn't travel will compete in the El Camino "Dave Shannon" Invitational on Saturday.
Highlighting the meet was sophomore Micah Norfles (Marina HS), who not only won the hammer, but his mark of 51.18 meters (167' 11") moved him into third place on the school's top five marks. His distance was also a Southern California Prelims automatic qualifying mark.
