On Friday, the Cerritos College men's track & field team compiled 117 team points, which put them in third place at the Orange Coast Classic. The Falcons, who won four events on the day, trailed only the host Pirates (179 team points) and Saddleback College, who finished with 134 team points. Next up for the team will be the Mangrum Invitational next Friday, which will be held at Cal State San Marcos.

Headlining the day for Cerritos was sophomore sprinter Jaheim Williams (Compton HS), who won both the 100 meters (10.78) and 200 meters (21.98), while he ran the third leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that finished in second place. The foursome included sophomore Colby Owens (Milford Mill Academy, MD HS), freshman Jacob Jimenez (El Rancho HS), Williams and sophomore Jemar Armstrong (Rancho Dominguez Prep HS), who turned in a time of 3:23.40.

The Falcons also picked up a first place result in the high jump, as freshman Javone Brown (Long Beach Jordan HS) recorded a height of 1.85 meters, while the distance of 48.05 meters in the discus put sophomore Micah Norfles (Marina HS) in first place. He also finished in second place in the shot put at 12.95 meters.
