Prior to the start of their home opener against Glendale College on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., the Cerritos College baseball program will pay tribute to Wally Kincaid, the program's first coach, who passed away in November. The college will observe a moment of silence in his honor after the 2016 Falcon team is introduced, while Cerritos College Board of Trustee Vice President Marisa Perez will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. This year, the team will also adorn their uniforms with a "WK" patch in honor of Kincaid and will have his traditional number "13" painted onto the field behind home plate.

Coach Kincaid spent 22 seasons as the Falcons head coach and won 678 games, along with six state championships. He revolutionized the game with his ability to team all aspects of the game and parlayed that into one of the most successful careers in all of sports. He was named the National Community College Coach of the Century by Baseball America Magazine, as well as being inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame and Cerritos College Hall of Fame.

The Falcons opener their season on the road this past Saturday and recorded a 12-6 win over Mt. San Jacinto College.
