After coming in a second place tie in the South Coast Conference South Division, the Cerritos College women's basketball team has been seeded #14 for the upcoming Southern California Regional Playoffs. By being seeded in the top 14 of the 18 teams, the Falcons (18-12) avoided playing in the first round, which will take place on Wednesday. The team will travel to #3-seeded Irvine Valley College for a 7:00 p.m. game on Friday. It will be the first meeting of the season between Cerritos and the Orange Empire Conference champions.

The winner of the game will take on the winner of the #11-seed Mt. San Jacinto College against #6-seed Bakersfield College and it will take place March 4 at the home of the highest seed.

The Falcons enter the post-season with losses by a combined seven points in their last two games, including an overtime setback against Long Beach City College in the regular season finale. Prior to that, Cerritos had won four straight games. As for IVC, they went through the conference season undefeated, which included three overtime wins.

On the year, the Falcons have a 3-6 record against teams in the Southern California Regional Playoffs, while the Lasers are 11-2 against teams in the post-season.

Tickets for the game are $10.00 for general admission and $8.00 for students/faculty/staff with ID, seniors (55 above) and children under 12.
