Sophomore guard Alexis Clark (Mayfair HS) matched her season-high scoring output with 22 points off the bench to help the Cerritos College women's basketball defeat host Los Angeles Harbor College, 77-59 on Friday. The win improved the Falcons record to 14-11 overall and 2-1 in South Coast Conference South Division play. The team will now host rival Long Beach City College (15-8, 2-1) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday in a critical divisional game.

After a close first half, where Cerritos held a slim 30-25 lead, it was a more open offensive approach to the second half that helped the team pull away for the win. Clark, who scored 16 of her 22 points in the second half, converted 10-of-14 shots on the night. Sophomore guard Angie Ferreira (Long Beach Millikan HS) also accounted seven of her 10 points in the final 20 minutes, as the Falcons opened up a 55-39 lead after the third quarter and rode that momentum for the remainder of the game.

Freshman guard Jesenia Rendon (Carson HS) also provided eight points, six rebounds and five assists off the bench, with the Falcons accounting for 39 of their points off the bench. Freshman center Carolina Cuevas (Legacy HS) finished with nine points and nine rebounds, with freshman guard Gillian Yamasaki (South Torrance HS) producing eight points in the win. The tandem of freshmen guards Serena Rendon and Jessica Gomez (Legacy HS) each added seven points and combined for 12 rebounds.
