The Cerritos College baseball team had their five-game winning streak come to an end with a 6-0 South Coast Conference loss to El Camino College on Tuesday at Kincaid Field. The Falcons (18-13, 10-6), who opened the day tied for second place and was one game out of first place, slipped to two games back after first place Long Beach City College defeated Pasadena City College. Cerritos and the Warriors (21-10, 9-7) will play the second game of their three-game series on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at El Camino.

On the day, the Falcons had just three hits, with two of them coming in the first inning. Freshman outfielder Mark Pena (Bell Gardens HS) led off with a single, with sophomore third baseman Victor Guadalupe (La Quinta HS) driving a single up the middle with one out. Neither runner would be able to advance and Cerritos would only get one more hit - a seventh inning single by freshman catcher Gary James (Sunny Hills HS) - the remainer of the game.

Sophomore starting pitcher Ryan Arambula (Bell Gardens HS) pitched well enough to keep the team in the game for the first four innings. But in the fifth inning, he allowed a two-run double to Johnathan Pasillas and was eventually removed in the sixth inning after allowing another run and back-to-back walks. Travis Bonner (Cabrillo HS) and Adrian Ramirez (Santiago HS) pitched the remainder of the game.
