In the rubber game of their three-game series, the Cerritos College baseball team saw their bats held in check in a 7-1 South Coast Conference loss to visiting El Camino College. The Falcons (4-17, 3-8) will now start a three-game series with Los Angeles Harbor with the first game scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday on the road.

Trailing 1-0 heading into the bottom of the second inning, sophomore first baseman Roberto Salazar, Jr. (Fullerton HS) launched his fourth home run of the season to tie the game. However, that would be all the offense the Falcons would generate, as Warriors pitcher Aaron Orozco limited them to just three hits in eight innings of work.

On the other side of the coin, Cerritos starting pitcher Joshua Jorgensen (Lakewood HS/East Los Angeles College) struggled with his control in the third inning, allowing four walks in a four-run inning, that also included an error to keep the inning alive. Jorgensen (0-4) was removed after giving up a leadoff walk in the fourth inning, with freshman John Chavez (St. John Bosco HS) finishing up the game. Chavez did an admirable job, as he allowed one run on four hits, while he struck out seven batters, with five of them coming in the first two innings in which he appeared.

The Falcons advanced only one runner to second base the whole game, as sophomore outfielder Cody Ahrens (Mayfair HS/Hope International University) singled in the sixth inning and stole second base.
